THE MEDAL 0F THE HOLY FACE 0F
JESUS
Origin
and Description
This medal of the Holy Face of Jesus, has been made by Sister Maria Pierina De Micheli, F d. I. C., following the request of Jesus and the Blessed Mother. She, with the help of her spiritual Director, Abbot D. lldebrando Gregori, O.S.B., received the permission of the Curia of Milan, Italy.
A Message
She Received From Jesus:
«I will that My Face, which reflects the intimate pains of my Spirit, the suffering and the love of My Heart, be more honoured. He who meditates upon Me, consoles Me.»
«Every time that My Face is contemplated, I will pour My love into the hearts of men and through My holy Face will be obtained the salvation of many souls.»
A Message
She Received From The Blessed Mother:
«This medal is a weapon or defense, a shield of courage, a guarantee of love and of mercy that Jesus wishes to give to the world in these rimes of sexuality and of hatred towards God and the Church. Diabolical snares are laid to tear the faith from the hearts or men, evil is spreading, the true apostles are few, a divine remedy is necessary and this remedy is the Holy Face of Jesus.»
«All those who shall wear a medal, and who make, if they can, a visit to the Blessed Sacrament every Tuesday in reparation for the outrages received by the Holy Face of my Son, Jesus, during His Passion, and those He receives daily in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, will be fortified in the faith, ready to defend it and to overcome all difficulties, interior and exterior. Furthermore, they will have a happy death under the loving gaze of my divine Son.»
The medal of the Holy Face of Jesus, captures and expresses in a remarkable way the presence of God within us.
On one side is engraved the Face of Jesus with the inscription: "Illumina, Domine Vultum Tuum super nos" (make Thy Face shine upon us, o Lord). On the other side, is a host surrounded with rays and the words:
"Mane nobiscum, Domine" (stay with us, o Lord).
THE MEDAL IS
USEFUL FOR PRAYER
The medal is a human device to help us to become conscious of the presence of God. It is an advice of St. Teresa of Avila and many other spiritual directors that when we pray the first step should be self-recollection; the second should be to visualise God close to us; and the third to concentrate our attention on His Holy Face. Thus, we may understand the sentiments of His Spirit and the sentiments of His love which motivated Him to suffer so much for us. In this way we penetrate into the mind and heart of Jesus. Though we may be as nothing in His sight, yet it has pleased Him to call us and to establish a relationship in which we are alone with Him.
